has been Medical Director of Augenklinik am Marienplatz in Munich since 1998 and since 2006, moreover, Medical Director of the collaborative outpatient medical centre, Medizinisches Versorgungszentrum an der Oper, with a focus on ophthalmology.
Dr Neuhann has enjoyed international recognition as an experienced ophthalmologist since the mid-1990s due to his pioneering work, especially with regard to the implantable contact lens (ICL), the retropupillary artificial lens, and (particularly deep lamellar) corneal transplants. He has also achieved further accolades in the field of refractive surgery. As a specialist in ophthalmology, Dr Neuhann can diagnose and treat all manner of eye disorders.
Dr Neuhann is one of the world’s leading experts in this procedure. He was not only the first surgeon to implant these lenses in patients in the early 1990s, but he also implanted the world’s first toric version of EVO Visian ICL in 1998. This flexible, biocompatible artificial lens is implanted in front of the natural crystalline lens and is neither palpable nor visible from the outside.
