At Eye Clinic Munich – Augenklinik am Marienplatz, we perform many laser-assisted eye operations. Such systems offer a high level of comfort for patients and consistent results in many areas of refractive surgery. The enhancement of the excimer laser system, for example, has facilitated the first ever non-contact correction of short-sightedness, long-sightedness, and corneal curvature.

People who never had to wear glasses when they were younger find it most difficult to adjust to reading glasses or other reading aids. Various options are now available for correcting such conditions, even in those with age-related long-sightedness (presbyopia).
As we grow older, the risk of eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and corneal thinning increases. However, modern diagnostic methods and medical technology mean it is possible in many cases to (largely) restore the eyesight.
Dr Neuhann is one of the world’s leading experts in this procedure. He was not only the first surgeon to implant these lenses in patients in the early 1990s, but he also implanted the world’s first toric version of EVO Visian ICL in 1998. This flexible, biocompatible artificial lens is implanted in front of the natural crystalline lens and is neither palpable nor visible from the outside.

For advice concerning surgery or an eye disorder and its treatment, patients should consult our outpatient medical centre (MVZ). After surgery, your care can be managed by your own eye doctor as before.
